July - 2012:

In Free Spiritual Books we have excerpts from the writings of 2 of the greatest Masters of all times: Thomas a Kempis whose book The Imitation of Christ is

probably the most popular outside of the Bible, and the outline of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola, founder of the Jesuits.

Larger Gems includes a talk about Pentecost that is truly beautiful by Pope Benedict XVI.

Are you sometimes harsh rather than gentle?  See Spiritual Gems from Quotable Saints.

Under Amazing Stories check out Ven. Francis Libermann – a Jew who became a Catholic priest.

See also stories of amazing graces on the same click.

Especially recommended is to go to Bob Olson’s terrific talk on the Eucharist under Talks.

Check out the inspirational story of Garvan Byrne on Google about a boy with mind of 12 in a tiny body. It is really worth finding.

One of the most astounding Spiritual Classics is an anonymous book called The Cloud of Unknowing. The book that you can get free on-line is in English vintage

1900. For my course this Fall, I went through excerpting and paraphrasing in mostly contemporary language. Check it out on free spiritual books.

June - 2012:

Have you considered the spirituality of clutter?????!!! Check out Larger Gems.

How about a classical reading about child-raising? See St. John Chrysostom in Larger Gems.

Many people find that they never find their niche in life. They feel depressed about this. If you are one of these or know others who are, let them meet St. Benedict

Labre – a holy wanderer.

From Spiritual Classics free spiritual books, read beautiful selections from Blessed Juliana of Norwich, a walled-in hermitess!  If you don’t know what that is, find

out.

Dr. Ronda’s take on one aspect of the upcoming election – see Spiritual Gems.

A new audio by Bob Olson is on audios this month.

Do you think anything about the priesthood today could be funny?  Go to Larger Gems.

Read the story of St. Catherine of Siena, one of the most miracle working of the saints, under Amazing Stories.

In The Open Door audios there was a whole section of audios with Dr. Ronda, Bob and Evelyn Olson and sometimes others, based on Ronda’s Blogs called The

Way of Love: 100 Steps – A Spiritual Marathon. This is now in booklet form (write to Ronda at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to get it as an attachment) and is being

done by individuals all over the world and in groups as well. TO GET WAY OF LOVE IN SPANISH GO TO - http://www.psanjorge.arquibogota.org.co/index.php?idcategoria=48388

May - 2012:

Read about Fidel from Nuevo Laredo to see miracles of grace for criminals.

Open Door continues the new series of radio blogs led by Dr. Richard Geraghty about the faith of Blessed John Henry Newman the great English 19th century

sage.

April 24, 2012 was the 75th birthday of Dr. Ronda and her twin sister, Carla De Sola, a famous sacred dancer. Ronda’s daughter, Carla’s niece, wrote an

incredible poem about Carla’s life as a dancer. You will find it in larger gems.

Spiritual Gems  from new sources will make you think and inspire you, too.

More from Dr. Ronda’s course on the Spiritual Classics under free spiritual books: this time from the stories about St. Francis of Assisi.

Beautiful spiritual poetry from Brazil?  Check out Spiritual Gems.

A totally different mood: excerpts from poems my daughter, Carla wrote for the 75th birthday of myself and my twin sister, Carla De Sola the sacred dancer. Go to

Spiritual Gems.

April - 2012:

Dr. Ronda is teaching a course on the Spiritual Life in the Classics at Holy Apostles College and Seminary next fall. Under free spiritual books you will find entries

(a new one on the 15th of each month and another new one on the 30th from the writings of these giants. Take a look at the writings of St. Benedict this month.

Dr. Ronda was sent some lovely songs by a singer: Paul Lisney. Paul is a Catholic singer/songwriter who has been making music for almost 40 years. He was born

in England and moved to the USA with his family in 1970 at the age of 10. His music can be ordered free of charge through the website “Images Of Heaven” at

http://imagesofheaven.org/Index/Lisney.html

Check out under Amazing Stories one by  Br. Youssef, a Lebanese man who went from being a play-boy rich man to becoming part of an order that lives poor and

evangelizes street people.

In our section of Free Spiritual Books you will find serialized Spiritual Life in the Classics – dramatic readings that are part of a course Dr. Ronda is giving this Fall

at Holy Apostles College and Seminary. We started with St. Benedict’s Rule for our April 15th Spirituality Running to God. This one is from St. Bernard’s

Commentary on the Song of Songs.

Having trouble with doubts about what to believe? The greatest spiritual writer of the 19th Century was John Henry Newman.  Foreseeing a great loss of faith in the

20th century, he wrote a book entitled The Grammar of Assent to prove that what is believe in faith was certain. It’s a wonderful book but hard going for most

readers. Dr. Richard Geraghty, Professor of Philosophy at Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) wrote a book simplifying Newman’s ideas.  This book in one

of its manuscript forms he agreed to have us put up on this web-site. You will find it under Free Spiritual Books.

March - 2012:

Our wonderful reader Kathleen Brouillette can be found under audios reading one of Dr. Ronda’s novels. This one, Ties that Bind, is the first in a series. It is about a

marriage. The same events are told by the wife and then by the husband in every other chapter. We think you will like it. It is a short novel, more like a novella.
We also have some new writers in Larger Spiritual Gems. Ronda has taken some provocative things from the lectures of a 12 Step priest, Fr. Emmerich Vogt,

O.P.,  and shorter gems  from a 19th century French spiritual writer – a priest who writes about the sins of women’s tongues better than Ronda has seen in the work

of any woman writer!

Again, we wish, wish, wish, that more of you would e-mail us about what you like most on this web. Ronda’s e-mail is This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Dr. Ronda has been assembling for several years wonderful witness stories of late vocations seminarians and priests. It has finally been published by a new little

press called Goodbooks and Media, out of Corpus Christi, Texas. The title is Last Call: 12 Men who Dared Answer. These fascinating stories range from men of

many different countries, previous work, and family background – some have been single all their lives, some are divorced/annulled. Perhaps you, the reader,

wonder if you have a late vocation or you know someone you think would make a good priest even though he is older than the usual age for going to a seminary.

You can order Last Call: 12 Men who Dared Answer by going to amazon and searching for that title or to creativespace. You can read Dr. Ronda’s introduction to

the book on Amazing Stories right here and order it here: https://www.createspace.com/3924345

Check out Open Door audios with a new series that just started with Bob and Evelyn Olson and Dr. Richard Geraghty of EWTN.

Also Marti is back with a Biblical Counsel about dealing with cold priests.

You will find a new series on Open Door called The Way of Love: Step by Step. This is a spiritual marathon devised by Dr. Ronda where we do 100 days of trying to become more loving.

Listen to intro on Open Door or read it on Dr. Ronda’s Blog at www.ccwatershed.org, starting November 18, 2011.

Bob Olson gave a wonderful talk that is transcribed in written form under Talks.

And there is more of Djinna’s story of dealing with unemployment under Larger Spiritual Gems.

A huge new entry by Ronda is a set of her blogs for the year 2011. These were originally on Corpus Christi Watershed, a marvelous website. They specialize in beautiful contemporary sacred classical music with lots of small samples.  If you haven’t clicked on them before this is a good time - click their site link above or find a link on the Useful Links page. The blogs of Ronda cover many topics in short form that you have not seen on Spirituality Running to God.

You can find Ronda's 2011 blogs in this new section of Spirituality - Running to God, or via the new main menu entry on the left.

Also Marti Armstrong has a Biblical Counsel about a problem you may have yourself or have seen in friends who need good advice.

October - 2011:

Also, if you happen to be a widow you might want to check out Larger Spiritual Gems for some of Dr. Ronda’s prayers for widows.

September - 2011:

FROM NOW ON WE HAVE CUT SPIRITUAL GEMS IN TWO PARTS:  SPIRITUAL GEMS for the shorter ones and LARGER SPIRITUAL GEMS for the longer ones.  Both of these start with the older inserts and end with the last ones, so if you have been following these sequentially since they started you might want to go to the end and scroll up each 2 weeks.

I, Dr. Ronda, read a dynamite book recently by a friend of mine. It is called To Kindle a Fire: a 21st Century Approach to the Seven Deadly Sins. The author is Dr. Ross Porter, a licensed Clinical Psychologist practicing in the Los Angeles area. He has a Ph.D. in psychology and a Master of Divinity in Theology.  Look at some excerpts from him in Larger Spiritual Gems and consider buying the book and/or checking out his web-site under our Links

Wonder what our young people think about feminity? Check out the Larger Spiritual Gem by Jared Silvey.

Since many of you may be unemployed or under-employed keep following Djinna’s series under Larger Spiritual Gems. THIS MONTH’S SET OF INSERTS INCLUDES A SENSATIONAL ITEM: Dr. Ronda’s husband, Martin Chervin, before his death, wrote a book called 'Children of the Breath: A Dialogue in the Desert,' about all that Satan and Jesus might have talked about that isn’t in the New Testament. The real theme of the book was how the reality and person of Jesus is the refutation of all the objections of contemporary man against God. It was published by CMJ Marian Publishers but is now going out of print and Dr. Ronda has permission to find another publisher. In the meantime, she put it up for free under free Spiritual Books so you can read it here.

More on unemployment – forgiveness by Djinna Gochis  - see Larger Spiritual Gems.

This time lots of new wonderful things on Spiritual Gems.

Also check out Amazing Stories about a poor Vietnamese man who adopted 50 babies!

August - 2011:

We want to draw your attention particularly to new audios under Talks – Bob Olson did a terrific talk on Speaking in Tongues that can be found under mid-August inserts and Ronda Chervin did talks on Grieving and on When the Church says No that are in these entries for end of August.

Also check on Djinna’s second entry in the series about Hope After Unemployment – see Larger Spiritual Gems.

The inserts for August 15 are on topics we haven’t touched much on so far. Be sure to read in Amazing Stories about Tom Prendergast who was disabled most of his adult life and how he found Jesus in this heavy cross.

There is a wonderful piece in Larger Gems written by Djinna Gochis  about running to God when you are unemployed.

Also you can read the second in the new series by Michael Meaney, Ph.D. under larger gems.

July - 2011:

I am thrilled to have more spiritual art on this web. If you didn’t see it has time, check out the spiritual drawings of Dae – it is the last item on the main menu to the left.

As Dr. Ronda travels around the country giving talks this summer she is even more aware that we cannot detach spirituality from ethics. If that is vague to you, try reading her Living in Love: About Christian Ethics which is on June’s  free spiritual books here.

This month we are starting a new series of articles by Dr. Michael Meaney, a philosophy professor from Corpus Christi, Texas.  You will find them under Larger Spiritual Gems. The first article is “Called to Love.”

Many of us don’t know what to say to those grieving the loss of loved ones, or how to find consolation in our own hearts.  Dr. Ronda gets many e-mails from readers of her free e-book Weeping with Jesus. See the link on this web-site under Free Spiritual Books.

June - 2011:

The entries for the end of June include a big new spiritual adventure Dr. Ronda is conducting. It is a way we can get out of denial of our negative patterns that drive others crazy. Find A New Way under Larger Spiritual Gems.

In case you missed it, under Talks scroll all the way down to Bob Olson’s terrific Pentecost 2011 audio of his talk in Connecticut.

BE SURE TO NOTE OUR NEW WAY OF HAVING YOU CONTACT US. CLICK ON THE CONTACT US LINK

There are many beautiful things to be found in this month’s entries. We especially draw your attention to the parts of a book Dr. Ronda co-authored years ago called Mary: Teach us How to Live found in the section of this web called free spiritual books.

Of special interest to you might be a novella written by Esther Le Beau-Kerr about a utopian Catholic community. Look for it under Amazing Stories.

This month we have some longer spiritual gems because we didn’t want to limit ourselves to short ones. We also have quite a few new audios from Bob Olson and from Ronda. The most spectacular is under Amazing Stories about a Jewish man who became an atheist but then… I won’t give away the ending. Check out the Story of Charles Rich.
